Photography pricing can be confusing.
You see one photographer charging $200. Another charges $500. Another says the session is $300, but then there are products afterward.
So what are you actually paying for?
At Roadhouse Photography, my current session fee is $300. Artwork is purchased separately, with options beginning at $250.
I want to be really transparent about what that means—and what goes into creating a Roadhouse session.
The $300 Session Fee
The session fee covers much more than the time we spend taking photographs.
It includes the planning that happens before your session, access to my client closet of 35+ dresses in sizes XS–3X, location planning and scouting, the photography itself, and my guidance throughout the entire experience.
The Client Closet
You don't have to go shopping for the perfect outfit or wonder what will photograph well.
My client closet has more than 35 dresses ranging from XS–3X, and we'll work together to find something that fits your style, your body, and the look we're creating.
And if you already have something you love, you're always welcome to wear that instead.
Location Planning
You also don't have to figure out where your session should take place.
If you have a location in mind, I'll absolutely consider it. But choosing the location isn't something I simply leave up to you.
I'll help determine what will photograph well, what fits the vision for your session, and what makes sense for your family.
The Actual Session
Then there's the part everyone thinks they're paying for: the photography.
You don't have to know how to pose.
You don't have to know what to do with your hands.
And you definitely don't have to spend the entire session trying to get your kids to behave.
That's my job.
I guide you through the session so you can actually interact with your children instead of worrying about whether everyone is standing correctly.
And because I specialize in motherhood photography, I'm looking for more than the traditional family photograph. I'm watching for the relationships, personalities, connections, and little things that make your family yours.
That's the part where experience matters.
Then There's the Artwork
After your session, we meet to look at your photographs and decide what you actually want to keep.
Artwork currently begins at $250 with a small digital collection. Most of my clients invest more because they choose to add tangible artwork—such as wall art or an album—to their session.
My goal isn't simply to deliver a folder of digital files.
I want you to leave with something you can actually see, hold, and live with.
Maybe that's a framed photograph on your bedroom wall.
Maybe it's an album sitting on your coffee table.
Maybe it's artwork that your children will eventually pull down and look through years from now.
I don't believe every family needs the exact same thing, which is why you get to choose what makes sense for you.
But I do believe these photographs deserve to exist somewhere other than a folder on your computer.
So Why Is Roadhouse Changing?
Because I'm building something bigger.
Roadhouse Photography has grown considerably from where it started, and the new studio is the next step.
My goal isn't simply to have a place where I can take pretty pictures.
I'm creating a more intentional, full-service experience for mothers—from planning and wardrobe to location scouting, photographing, ordering, and ultimately creating artwork that lives in your home.
As the experience evolves, so will the pricing.
The pricing you see today reflects where Roadhouse is right now. The studio will be the next chapter, and the pricing will change as that chapter begins.
